Hook Lab
In betaMarketing
Describe it once. Get 20 headlines, scored.
Writing a headline takes seconds; thinking of twenty good ones takes an hour. Describe what you are promoting in a sentence or two, pick a format, and Hook Lab returns 20 distinct variants — each scored on clarity, curiosity and urgency, and ranked so you can read the top five instead of all twenty.
What it does
Twenty at once, not one at a time
One run returns twenty variants, each written from a genuinely different angle — benefit, curiosity, question, number, bold claim, contrarian — rather than twenty rewordings of the same line.
Written for the format
An ad headline, an email subject line, a social hook and a landing page H1 obey different rules on length, punctuation and where the hook sits. Pick one and every variant follows it.
Ranked so you can skim
Each variant is scored one to ten on clarity, curiosity and urgency, and sorted by the total. Re-sort by any single axis when that is the one you care about.
Constraints it will respect
Set an audience, a tone, a keyword every variant must contain, or a character limit your ad platform enforces.

What people use it for
- Filling out an ad set that needs five headlines, not one
- Finding a subject line worth A/B testing
- Getting past a blank page on a landing page headline
- Writing hooks for a week of social posts in one sitting
Which key it uses
Hook Lab calls OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude) or Google AI (Gemini). On a paid plan, add a key for any of them under Account → API keys and that provider bills you directly — no credits spent. Without a key, runs spend from your included plan credits instead, and you are told when that happens.
Questions
- How reliable are the scores?
- They are the model's own assessment, and they exist to sort twenty options so you can scan the best few — not to predict performance. Treat the ranking as a reading order, then test the winners against your own audience.
- Does asking for more options cost more?
- No. A batch is charged once, whatever format and options you choose, because all twenty variants are produced in a single pass.
- What does it cost to run?
- On a paid plan, if you add your own provider API key the provider bills you directly and Bizwax charges no credits. Without a key, runs spend from the credits included with your plan — and the tool tells you when that happens. Organizations can supply one shared key for the whole team.
- Where does my work go?
- Everything you generate is saved to your Library automatically, so it survives closing the tab. Library is available on Pro and Business plans. You choose what, if anything, to share to Creations.
