Cookie Policy

1. What cookies and browser storage are

A cookie is a small piece of text a website asks your browser to keep and send back on later visits. Browser storage (local storage, session storage and IndexedDB) works in a similar way but stays in your browser. We use both, and this policy covers both.

2. Strictly necessary

These are needed for the site to work, or are set because you asked for something, so they do not need your consent. You can still delete them in your browser, but parts of the site may stop working.

• bizwax_session (cookie): keeps you signed in. Set when you sign in and removed when you sign out. Lasts up to 5 days. It cannot be read by page scripts (httpOnly).
• bizwax_consent (cookie): remembers your answer to our cookie question, so we do not ask on every page. Lasts 180 days.
• bizwax_locale (cookie): remembers the language you picked. Set only when you choose a language. Lasts one year.
• Firebase Authentication storage (IndexedDB or local storage, set by Google's Firebase software): keeps your sign-in working in this browser. Set when you sign in and cleared when you sign out.
• bizwax-theme (local storage): remembers the light or dark appearance you chose inside your account. Set only when you change it.
• bizwax.toolFinder.prompted and bizwax.toolFinder.chat.v1 (session storage): remember whether the tool-finder chat has already opened for you and hold that conversation, so it survives moving between pages. Kept only in the current browser tab and cleared when you close it.

3. Optional, only with your consent

• bizwax_ref (cookie): if you arrived through a partner's link, it remembers that partner's code so they can be credited if you create an account. Set only if you choose "Accept all". Lasts 30 days. It cannot be read by page scripts (httpOnly).

If you choose "Necessary only", this cookie is never set, and if it was set before, choosing "Necessary only" removes it.

4. Visit statistics without cookies

To understand which pages are useful, we count visits to our public pages without cookies or any identifier. Your browser tells us the page, the site that referred you, any campaign tag in the link, your language, and whether you clicked the sign-up button, and we add one to that day's totals. We do not store your IP address, your browser details or anything that links one visit to another. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we do not count the visit at all.

5. Other services our pages load

Some pages load files or features from other companies. When they do, your browser connects to that company directly, which shares technical information such as your IP address and browser type with it, and it may use its own cookies under its own policy.

• Fontshare (api.fontshare.com and cdn.fontshare.com): serves the typeface used across the site, on every page.
• Product Hunt (api.producthunt.com): serves the badge image in the footer of our public pages.
• Google and Firebase (including accounts.google.com and googleapis.com): power sign-in, including "Sign in with Google", on our sign-in pages.
• Google Calendar (calendar.google.com): shows the booking calendar on our demo page, when booking is available.
• Stripe: handles checkout on Stripe's own pages when you subscribe.

6. Your choices

• Change your cookie choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the foot of every page.
• Delete or block cookies and site data in your browser settings. Blocking the necessary ones will stop sign-in from working.
• Turn on Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control in your browser to stop us counting your visits.

7. Changes to this policy

If we add, change or remove a cookie, we will update this policy and its date, and ask again if a new cookie needs your consent.
