Get an xAI (Grok) API key

Create a key in the xAI console to use Grok models.

Open xAI console

1. Create your account

  1. 1Go to console.x.ai and sign in, or create an xAI account.
  2. 2Create or join a team/workspace if prompted.

2. Create the API key

  1. 1In the console, open the API Keys section.
  2. 2Click "Create API key", give it a name, and confirm.
  3. 3Copy the key immediately — it is shown only once.

xAI keys start with "xai-".

3. Add billing

  1. 1Open the Billing section of the console.
  2. 2Add a payment method and a starting credit balance.

4. Keep it safe

Treat an API key like a password. Anyone who has it can spend on your account. Never post it publicly, commit it to a git repository, or paste it into a chat. If a key is ever exposed, revoke it in the provider console and create a new one.

Now put it to work

Add the key once in Bizwax and every tool on the platform can use it. The provider bills you directly for what you use, at their rates, with nothing added on top.
