Prompt versioning: stop losing your best prompts
You wrote the perfect prompt last month. Can you find it right now? For most people the answer is no — and that's a storage problem.
The prompt is the valuable part
When an AI produces something great, the output is only half the value. The prompt that produced it is the reusable half — the thing you'd want again next week, tuned and ready. Yet it usually lives in a throwaway chat and is gone the moment you close the tab.
Version them like code
- Save prompts somewhere durable, not in chat history.
- Keep the old version when you improve one, so you can compare or roll back.
- Note what each version was for, so you can find it later.
- Reuse and adapt rather than rewriting from scratch every time.
A home for prompts
BizWax's PromptLine gives prompts a proper home — you write and test them, and the ones that work are saved and reusable instead of scattered across chats. Even a plain document beats chat history; the point is that a prompt worth keeping should be somewhere you can actually find it.
