Search finds the word you typed. It can't find the answer when the document phrased it differently — which is most of the time.
What search can and can't do
Keyword search inside a document is fast and precise, but it only finds the words you already know to type. If the report says 'attrition' and you searched 'churn', or the answer is spread across three paragraphs that never use your term, search comes up empty even though the answer is right there.
Asking is different from finding
Asking a question of a document works on meaning rather than exact words. It can pull an answer together from passages that phrase things differently, and hand you the answer instead of a list of places to go read. The one thing to insist on is a citation — the passage the answer came from — so you can confirm it rather than trust it.
