The best AI ad generators for small businesses in 2026

You have the product photos, the offer and a logo. What you do not have is a designer free this week. Here is what the AI ad generators cost and which one fits.

The problem these tools solve

A small business needs a steady run of ads in several shapes, for the feed, stories and a banner, and every one has to look like the same brand. Paying a designer for each is slow and expensive, and fighting a template editor for an hour per post is how ads stop getting made. AI ad generators build finished ads from your copy, photos and colours in minutes.

What to look for

  • Brand kit: your colours, fonts and logo applied every time, so ads look like one business.
  • Sizes: one set of inputs resized for square, portrait, stories and banners.
  • Photo, video or both: video tends to get watched where a still gets scrolled past.
  • How you are charged: per download, per credit or per generation, which changes the real price a lot.
  • Readable text: tools that lay your words over the design, rather than generating them into the image, spell them correctly.

The contenders

Prices are from each company's own pricing page, checked on 28 September 2026. Several were showing sales or discounted billing periods, so check before you buy.

Canva. The free plan includes AI ad creation with a limited number of AI uses and one basic brand kit. Pro is US$144 a year for one person and adds five brand kits, one-click resizing, background removal and social scheduling. Best for the many small businesses already designing in Canva.

Pencil. From $14 a month, or $11 billed yearly, for 50 generations, with text, image and video ads resized to five shapes and a performance prediction on each. A free trial covers six ads. The cheapest dedicated ad generator here.

AdCreative.ai. Starter is $39 a month billed monthly, less on longer billing, for 10 download credits and one brand. Generating is unlimited; you pay when you download. It scores each creative and looks at competitors' ads, with a 7-day free trial. Best if you test many variations and have the budget.

Predis.ai. The Core plan was listed at $24 a month when we checked, shown against a $32 regular price, with a 3-day trial that needs a card. It makes images, carousels and videos up to 30 seconds with captions and hashtags, and schedules them. Best if you want ads and regular social posts from one tool.

Creatify. Built for video ads with AI presenters. A free tier gives 10 watermarked credits a month; paid plans start at $39 a month for 100 credits. Best for talking-head style video ads without filming anyone.

The pick

Canva for most small businesses, because you can start free and many teams already use it. Pencil if you want a dedicated ad tool at the lowest price, and Creatify if video with a presenter is the format that works for you.

Another way: finished ads on a plan you already have

Ad Assembly on BizWax.Ai takes your headline, call to action, photos, logo and QR code, and puts them together as a finished photo or short video ad in your colours. It comes in square, 4:5, 9:16, 16:9 or 1.91:1, in eight styles and eight colour schemes, so one set of inputs covers the feed, stories and a banner. Your words are laid over the design rather than generated into it, so every letter comes out right, and every ad is saved to your Library for next month.

It does not score ads or connect to your ad accounts; it makes the ad, and you run it. It is one tool in the $20-a-month BizWax.Ai plan, next to Hook Lab for the headline and QR Reactor for a code you can re-point after it is printed.
